Persevere Your Way To Success

You either can starve or you can survive. You have to learn how to go after the things that you want in life. If you think waiting for a hand out is going to get you started, your thinking wrong! You have to get it started yourself. I learn that people will only help you if you help yourself. So that's one of the first things you should do. Find yourself, find your brand, find your label and stamp it! Think positive at all time and focus on the bigger goal that you are trying to accomplish. You should care less about the negativity that people bring to your product and the product is you! Nowadays people don't want to see others succeed. Who could they blame if you don't work you don’t eat? This goes for anything if you are lazy how do you expect to get to where you want to be in life. I would say it’s like a race, but it's not. Never try to outwork the next person but just focus on bettering yourself.

There will be a point in your life where you will get knocked back a few steps. It’s ok that’s part of life but the bigger thing is for you to not give up. What will make you stronger is the way you preserver through the struggle. Telling yourself that nothing could stop you. You have to have self-motivation because there will be people that down talk you every day wanting to be in your place that you are in right now. Let that motivate you to get over that extra curve that made you want to give up. No, it’s not easy to pass that finish line, but you have to have confidence in yourself knowing that you can do it. Success is there waiting for you. There may not be any road signs telling you that your hard work is paying off. There are no shortcuts to success. So focus and believe in yourself. Your hard work never goes unnoticed, people are watching you rather you know it not.

Take A Walk In My Shoes

The doubting, lack of support who can we count on? Where I'm from money and love is everything we lack. If you have seen what I've seen, then you'll understand where I'm coming from. Families go certain nights without eating sometimes. Talent going to waste with no role models spreading the love to encourage one another. It hurts me to see this, knowing that at one point in time this was me and my family in the same situation. Hungry eating Syrup sandwiches for dinner. Meanwhile, the mother is overworking herself with three jobs just to survive. it's not easy in life without money plus love.
My hood is the testimony for it, so I know people will agree with me. I have come from the bricks, known as the projects. Section 8 where private landlords rent apartments and homes at fair market rates to qualified low-income tenants. I would say that it is a good thing, but it's like your putting your living conditions into their hands. The government that we have now, may try to take that away from people at any moment.  I come from a single-parent household with my mother raising four kids on her own. My grandmother past away when I was at the age of one.  I salute my mother for staying strong and raising me into the man that I am today. This is where I come from.
I strive for a reason, I have no choice. I am the oldest child on both sides of my family. I have 3 little brothers and two little sisters looking up to me. I was raised to be the man and be the provider for the family. I work so hard to put the work in, but it's just like I have the devil on my back every time I take ten steps forward. I know I am not the only one that is going through this situation. Waking up seeing people robbed and others taking anything just because they want it.  The way the jail system works now days. Once you are convicted, it's like your life is just rolling you gutterballs. Selling drugs for a living just to make sure everyone eats inside the house. So as the females selling their body just to make sure their little ones eat. These are the things I see.  My neighborhood is counting and looking up to me to help change the community.  This is where I come from.

Music and sports are the only things we know will get us out of poverty. it's hard to get exposed to new things when you're around people that are simple-minded and haven't been exposed to much themselves.  People that have the opportunities to get away sometimes sacrifice their opportunities not wanting to leave family struggling. This is a heavy load that I am carrying on my shoulder, Just being the one with the opportunity to help and change the community and lives. There are so many families in my neighborhood who are counting on me. I can not let my community down. I have to show them there is another way out. It's so much that I come from, you wouldn't be able to walk a mile in my shoes.

Steps Towards My Dream

I'm just so excited in many ways that I can't even explain them. I want to thank those who have helped me keep pushing towards my dreams. This blog is showing appreciation, thanking people and telling you about my experience traveling to Melbourne Australia.
It took me three different planes just to reach my destination. First, I took a flight from Atlanta, Georgia to Lax (Los Angeles). The flight was about 4 hours. Then from Lax, I went to Sydney, Australia which was a 15-hour flight.  I know what your thinking, that is too long to be sitting on a plane. The Flight Actually wasn't that bad at all.  They feed us three meals and you would have free access to the new release movies. Most of the time on the plane you would really be sleeping. So after I arrived in Sydney it was one more flight I had to catch. Last stop was Melbourne, which the flight was about an Hour.  So in total, I've spent 20 hours on a plane. I've left Atlanta Saturday and Arrived in Australia Monday Morning. It's crazy but if you think about it, with the time traveling I missed a day. March 24, 2019, is the day that I've lost. Once I return back to the States I will gain a day back.
Once I landed in Melbourne a few of my teammates welcomed me at the airport. Jeff And Millar two great wonderful people that welcomed me in with open arms. Jeff told me the first thing I need to know is that the passenger seat is on the opposite side. It was kind of weird because in the States we drive on the right side and the steering wheel will be on the left.  They would laugh when I say Melbourne. Telling me that I am pronouncing it so wrong. So when you pronounce Melbourne the r is silent. So you will have to say it like Melboune.  The city is great and it is a lot different from the states they drive on the left side of the road and plenty more.  So as you can see I'm really enjoying myself and I haven't even been here for a whole week.  If you don't know I am here to pursue my baseball dreams. This is just the beginning of my Career.
I really can say that my life has made a whole 360 turn. now I see another picture which isn't clear enough for me but I know it is a step closer to my dream. It's nothing but God. One day I started thinking about dreams that were never achieved. This is my biggest fear of seeing my dream die when I give it my all. People around me always tells me that you are the only person that can kill your dreams. One way is not having faith or even working towards it you will never reach your dreams. I use to doubt myself and talents going off what others say about me. All my life I have been counted out. The things I hear the most are, your not big enough or you are too old. It's just crazy how people doubt you and won't encourage you to strive for your dreams. I would look at others seeing how they are happily in their dream careers. This is what I had to realize everyone has a different story and pathway. Encouraging words from Dwayne Johnson "Don't become the next person, worry about becoming the first you".
So for those who don't know, I have a passion for baseball. I've been playing since the age of 9. I am happy to tell you great news. On March 23, 2019, I've moved to Australia to join an inner-city baseball club out of Melbourne. Saint Kilda Baseball Club. I am very excited to display my talents with them. Saint Kilda is the oldest club in Australia established in 1879.  New players of all levels are always welcome at the club. I am a new import that will be playing with them for the winter season. The season Start April 6, 2019. There is a way for you to keep up with the team. You will have to download an app called  Team App. Once you download the app, go to the search list and type in St Kilda Baseball Club. You will see the schedule score of the game.

Knowing Yourself Is The Beginning Of All Wisdom

     Overthinking my pathway through life, when it comes down to finding the inner me. I'm lost, with my mind everywhere trying to figure out what is my purpose. I went from playing baseball, filming, and photography. I have been playing baseball my whole life. I started when I was at the age of ten. Even after college, I went to try out for a few independent baseball teams. Also, I reached out to a few teams overseas. I believe it's just a transition in my life where its time to do something new. Then I start to feel like it would be me giving up on my dreams. It's just so much I want to do, but I have to do things one at a time. My mind is so everywhere that's why I just go with the flow of life.
   College was one of the moments in my life where being lost really hit me. Once you cross that huge stage, A question pops up. "what am I going to do next ?" is what we ask ourselves.  I answered my own question like, "I don't know man, you have been playing baseball your whole life so why stop." My Life has been nothing but involved around baseball from me waking up to the time I close my eyes in bed. Many people tell me to become a coach, but that something I don't want to do. In my dreams, I can just see myself walking under the lights while my brother's records are playing as I make it to the pitcher's mound. Fans screaming my name those are the things I dreamed about. Traveling the world doing music and spending the love that I have for the people. I can live with that spreading love. Making music that people can relate to and can understand that they are not the only one feeling the pain. 
     I have a passion for Music, this year my music and my personal blogs are all I'm going to be focusing on. One question I know people may ask is " why do you love making music." It's just another way for me to express myself, the love and everything that comes with the music period. The fact that people would look at you as a big impact in today's society. My music is about love and hate, ways to make life better for those who are stressing while going through the struggles. I have been going through the struggle with finding myself, trying to figure out who am i. It seems with me writing and doing music letting my voice be heard to help others. Whether or not it's from relationship problems or from day to day things that I see within my life. I have been around music my whole life. It runs in the family bloodline. So maybe doing music and helping others is my calling.

Boys To Men!

   Every year in the Dukes Foundation we intake intelligent, well talented young men graduating from high school. While moving a step higher and going away in different directions, these young men are beating the odds. Considering where they come from they do not let that distract their focus and determination to be better and do better. There are many people today doubting our young men in this world, telling us things that we are not capable of achieving. Graduating from high school is one of them. I agree there are not too many of our young men graduating from high school. We find ourselves getting caught up in the wrongs things, more so at a young age. This is either causing them to lose their lives or going to prison. As an urban kid growing up from the city I really can understand where they are coming from.   

 Now here I am, a college graduate from Lane College majoring in Mass Communication. My journey with the Dukes Foundation really keeps me focused on what is ahead of me. The Dukes Foundation helps me find a long-lasting brotherly connection with people with those within the foundation, all appeared from similar situations. James Atkins another mentee from the Dukes Foundation graduating from Morehouse College and now a program manager for Microsoft. So as a proud member of the dukes foundation, I can truly say that it is possible and we can make a change to overcome the odds.

Choices, Chances and Change

All you know is that you are trying to get in where you fit in. One thing about that is you are just lost & Don’t know which direction to go But you know what you want out of life. You just need to know how to get started, You just need to know which step to take first and How to reach out to those people that are willing to help. Better yet, We all want to know where to find the best crowd to place ourselves in. The answers we want them so bad that we start to go searching really hard for them causing yourself Stressing because you can’t find the answers. You start getting upset & burning down the bridges that are connected to your answers. You just not knowing that the answers may be right in your face & you are doing nothing but overlooking them. I learned you have to stay composed and just be patient, which we don’t have but being composed will lead you to your answer. What people don’t understand sometimes the answer will find you.

Now for my story, I'm wanting to play pro baseball. Growing up my parents didn’t have the finances to put me into any upscale baseball programs. I didn’t have the fancy baseball uniforms, bats gloves and etc. One thing I did know was that my talent was good enough to compete with others. I know people don’t believe in me, But I believe in myself and I am self-motivated so there is nothing that can stop me. The problem for me is that it’s hard to find a baseball agent, I go looking online every day. Searching to find a baseball agent that will help me work my way into the league. I make sure I workout every morning, if I’m not working out I’m running because I know my time is coming I just want to be ready for it when it does come. I still ask myself what is the first step for me? I find that the answer is to stay ready so you won’t have to get ready. Prayer works so stay prayed up. You have to be posses with the dream. You have to see it when nobody else does. Your dreams will come true but you have to believe in them.

Who Can We Trust ?

  Who knows you better than you know yourself? Time after time we ask ourselves who are you but can never find that out. Use your time wisely and find that out cause it’s very important to know who you really are. This world we are in today is like a wild jungle full of lions, tigers, and bears. there are really wild and vicious Animals, Which is us, humans. which one are you? There are times where we go through things and never have a person to vent to. it’s just so much anger, hurt and pain build up inside of you ready to let loose. This makes you become a person that’s ready to kill anything that’s in your way, having you to react instead of thinking about the situation before your actions. Which most of us do not choose to do when so much pain & stress just built up inside of you.  

   Then it goes to who can you trust to talk to. If this person can give you the best advice? Then you get to tell yourself. How can this person give me some advice when they haven’t even felt your pain. So we hold it in because they wouldn’t understand it. The fact may be something other than them, not understanding. We may tend to be scared or ashamed to tell or let anyone know what we are going through. Nowadays where can you go for help? Everywhere you go people judge you for who you are or what you have been through. Which makes it hard for people to even tell someone what they are going through. So am asking the world today how can we take care of this situation? What do you suggest that we should do because most of this today is affecting the youth as of today? Some of the youth today can’t even talk to their own parents which is sad. I feel that something should be done!  Help make a difference in our society!

Happy Mother’s Day ❤️

It’s The Second Sunday in May, which is appointed for the honoring of mothers. Today is the day where we salute our strong women! All the mothers that are in the world today I want to say HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! Us Males will never understand the struggles and hard times that you ladies go through. So today you should just sit back relax enjoy yourself and let your loved ones treat you for today. Just call it an off day because being a mom is a whole job, and your job is never done. It’s not like a typical 8-to-5 Job, It’s An Whole career. Mothers are responsible for so much and often goes without being appreciated. We may not know but mothers take their role seriously. Praying for her loved ones, guiding you and serving you as a beautiful reflection of God's unfailing love. So let us pray for you.

Dear God,

We come to you today wanting to say that we are thankful for all of the mothers in the world today. We know being a mother could become stressful at days lord. We ask you to give them that strength and push them to get through the day. Keep the Mother’s positive lord and show them that their hard work doesn't go unnoticed. Photography Life

You want to know what’s so great about being a photographer or even being in the photographer field is that you get a chance to capture the moments. The special moments where you are being awarded for your accomplishments. Once you see the pictures you start to reminisce and think about that moment having a whole story to tell about it. You get a chance to just travel the world taking pictures. Site seeing different this catching snaps of the view of the world. It’s seems really easy to become a photographer. If you take pictures on your phone post them, either if you edit them in some way. You are considered a photographer. There is a lot of money in the photography field. It’s more to it than just taking pictures. You have to edited them add your tag in the pictures to let people know your brand. You should have a set price range for your customers because there are a lot of people in the world that love to have pictures of themselves or photos from a family events. Sports teams could hire you just to take pictures of the game and the fans while the game is going on. There is just so many ways you can work with a camera. You can do your own personal photoshoots & charge people as you take there photos. Photography is really easy to do and a fast, but also fun way to make money. You get a chance to meet and take pictures of different celebrities. This is something that could help build your brand. once you start getting your brand up many people would want to start working with you. This is when you make enough money you could open up you a photography studio. Just a place for you to start conducting your work. So the fact that many people don’t like to be behind the camera, but on the flip side they are the ones who are really making the money. When you hear people saying they would prefer to be behind the camera than in for of it. They really understand about the photography world and the media life. I’m just here to tell you that nothing is wrong with traveling the world taking pictures, just enjoying life capturing the moments is fun.

I can tell you that this has happened to me once before. the only difference is that i didn't get shot, but the gun was fired. Its a crazy sight feeling. Walking Class Of 2018

Graduation Time Class Of 2018, Where Black Grads Matter! I have been waiting for this moment for about 5 years now. I attend Lane College a Division II School. I just can say that I am really proud of myself & the things that I have been through just for me to get to this point in my life. One of the first in my family as a male to graduate from college. it’s been a long process from failing classes, taking them over, professors pushing me to do better and to become a better person. Once my senior year started I wanted to make sure that I was ahead in my class so there could be nothing to hold me back from graduating. Taking four major classes and playing baseball was kind of hard for me. Just had to understand that I am a student-athlete which means, me being a student comes first. Some sad things about the graduation are that I didn’t graduate with the class that I have come in with, and this may be my last time seeing some of the people that I am graduating with. One thing about graduating is that, it doesn’t matter how long it takes you to receive your bachelor degree as long as you receive it. There are some things you should know before graduating. One thing you should know is what you are doing or where you are going once you graduate because the real world is nothing to play with. I know people that have graduated and now they are home doing nothing with their lives. Some graduates didn’t receive a job in there career field until 3 years later. So knowing what your going to do after graduation is a very big role. It’s a week left, and when I walk across that stage I will become a become a new man. I will be Saying “ I did this for my family and the ones that wanted me to be great” there are people that don’t want to see me shine and be great, not just me but other graduates as well. We pushed each other to see this day for us to be saluted for the hard work that we have put in. So when the day of graduation comes we all should capture this moment cause not everyone graduates from college. 

What Is Love ?

Happy ever after is what we all prefer. A life where we could be happy and live with no regrets. Happily married starting a life with kids. Let me start off saying that their is nothing wrong with people wanting to be in a happy relationship. Yes, it would be great to start a life young married with no worries, but there are things in relationships where too much emotions could cause stress. What if you find yourself loving that person and loving everything she or he does for you. Besides the things that your significant other do, but you can say that every time you see that person they just make you smile. Will you call that real love? What if the years start to grow and you find yourself not even loving that person anymore. It all start by your significant other changing or not even doing the things that they use to do. When you first meet the person, their just so romantic having you to fall for everything that they do. The romantic things go away, they just stop doing the things that made you smile. It could be the way that they were talking to you at first. Now everything is so aggressive making it seem like they are starting to control you. Then you find yourself saying that this is not the person that i meet. Start to question yourself are you ready for love? How do real love really feel ? How do you know if your really truly in love with someone? It’s just a lot of question that you start to ask yourself. Then once you're so truly deep into the relationship, Another person may come into your life. Lets just say its the dream girl or guy your always been wanting and they approaches you. Now remind you that you are in a relationship already. Then you really start asking yourself are you in love with this person or its just for the moment. Start to have mix feelings you are having to choose between two people. Your dream person that you have been wanting, or the person you have been spending most of your time with. One thing you should know is, just because a person looks good doesn’t mean their good for you. Many people make this same mistake going after something just because it looks good. This person may look good, but what can this person offer you. This person may not have a job just wanting to live and eat off of others. Which is sad how people will chose someone that look good over someone that is giving you their all. Willing to do anything for you, taking care of you, making you smile and handling their business. It's just a lot of things that comes with being in a relationship. So just don't jump into a relationship until you are for sure you are ready for one.

Last year of college and the team hasn’t come together as a team. What we don’t understand is that it takes teamwork to make the dream work. Which means everyone is not on the same page or trying to reach the same goal. We always talk about winning a championship game but can’t play like a championship team. Just ask yourself do you have what it takes to become a champion. Many people want to be a champion but don't want to put the work in. You have to be a leader, not just you but each and everyone on the team. When you're on the field Don’t do your best. Do whatever it takes! It's not easy to become a champion cause there are millions of people that are chasing the same goal. You have to keep looking for other ways to get smarter, stronger, faster, and better condition. Just invest all of your time into yourself crafting your unique style of gameplay. Being great as yourself when staying after practice getting more extra work in. most athletes tell themselves into believing that they’re done enough today. When in reality there is someone else is always working harder than you. You and the team have to have faith for and with one another. The team must have faith that they can win and become champions. The team must motivate each other into the game. It's always one rotten apple out the group but you can’t let that interfere with the brother love, team love that you suppose to have. You all have to believe in one another and have each other backs no matter what. Ask yourself do you have what it takes to become a champion. Ask each one of your teammates do they have what it takes to be a champion.

“Starter Pitcher for your Lane College Dragons number 18 Malcolm Davis”, The Announcer said.  As I was walking up to the mound I started thinking about my younger days playing baseball. I have been playing baseball since the age of 10 and now I have become a starting pitcher for the Lane College Dragons. As I was growing up I always dream of going pro to the major league baseball. This is my senior year, my last year of college baseball where I have to shine. There was a point in my life where I thought I wasn't good enough to play. I just kept hearing the coach telling me that I wasn't ready to be in the starting line up. The sad part is, when my family came to the games I was never in the game. It hurt my heart having my family come to the games and never see their son play. I started stepping my game up and going the extra mile that others wouldn't go. Staying a little after workouts or hitting in the cage least every day. I just started pushing myself to become better at what I am doing. Started crafting my flow to become better. Now it's time for me to shine! I wanted to show those who didn't think I could be great enough to play college level baseball and those who didn’t believe in me. Thinking I will never have my time to shine. It's the first game of the season. I came into the game in the 3rd inning and the opponents in the 7th inning losing from a two-point lead. After the game coach walks up to me. He says “I like the way you were pitching today. How do you feel about becoming a starter for your Lane dragons?” Of course, i smiled and said “ Yes! I would love it!” so everything that people say I wouldn't be able to do. I let that motivate me to become better.  Now it's time for me to shine! Never let anyone tell you that you can’t do anything. Just have your mind on to anything you want. There are people that will try to knock you off your path. Stay focus and keep your eye on the praise.

Wishing for a better life and wishing to reach your dreams is something that we all want to do. Staying focus and doing things you need to do to pursue your dreams. There are people in this world that don't want to see others succeed and have a great life. You can’t let others determine where you’re going to go in life. I know sometimes it get stressful and it cause pain, but that's what keeps you strong. Growing through the pain should motivate you, keep you to grinding so you won’t feel that pain again. Once you find out exactly what you want to achieve your goal. Sometimes you put so many obstacles in your own way that you forget why you wanted to start the damn thing to begin with. So you have to motivate yourself, people don't understand why your dreams and desires are important to you. If you have to put in overtime, staying overnight working on something that you care about even when it’s not making you money right now is ok. Sometimes you have to stop and think about reality because you only have one life. Live it to the max of your potential. You’re the only one that can make your dreams come true not others. So therefore nothing is unreachable. If it is needed change your surroundings, because it's sad to say you are who you hang around. If your around five people that don’t care for life. You will become the sixth person that don’t care about life. Now you’re around five successful people you will become the sixth person to become successful person out the group. Ask people that are successful in life and are living out there dreams. What were somethings they were going through, how they reached the point in their life, what kept them going. Asking those question could really help you in the long run.  I’m a photographer and my dreams are to travel the world taking pictures and giving the people what they want to see. I started looking at the big picture and started focusing on exactly what I wanted to achieve in life. Every morning waking up I tell myself to be great, stay positive and have faith. Only thing I can say is to become the person that you have always dream to become.

 King of the jungle is where i rank myself. Society is the jungle and we, the people are the ones that live in the jungle. I ranked myself to the top because i know i am capable of doing anything that i put my mind to. I'm a confident young man that loves to explore the world, trying new things and travel different places. Right now i currently a graduating senior attending lane college, majoring in Mass Communication. There are many things i could do dealing with this major. I am a photography that loves taking pictures and love catching the moments because it's less likely for you to catch that moment again. I'm also into the music industry music. Making music helps me relieve the pain and stress that i am going through daily. I try making music for people to vibe and that they can relate to.

 Coming from the south side of Atlanta not too many people make it out the hood. So therefore i am very grateful and thankful for the chance to change my live around and started head the direction that is best for me. It started making me look at reality in another way, like what's next after college. This is something that i should already have an answer to. What i have learn about the world right now is that it's all about the networking and meeting new people. The skills and talents that you have, you would have to show it and promote it to the world. If you want people to see your work you have to travel different places reaching out to people. So this tells you something about me. I'm all about building relationships with one another and becoming business partners. The first flight that i took, i went to Los Angeles California for a business trip with the artist B La B and the Artist Stilo. 

I travel the world and take pictures of them as they perform and i do most of there video editing behind the scenes.  I'm planning the next chapter in my life once i graduate college. I plan to have an internship at the turner production company in Atlanta Georgia. While I'm there i will promote my music and the photos that i have captured. There are people in my life that tells me everyday “ nothing is unreachable” all i have to do is work for what i want putting the time is what matters.  So I'm grinding hard everyday i wake up for the things i want to become in life. Baseball is something that i have been playing all my life. The game is all about failure, but it is how you respond to it that makes the difference between good players and great ball players. I treat the game to life, can't be sacred to take a risk or stepping up to the challenge. I have a lot to prove for the ones that didn't make it out of the hood.
